I've Been Dreaming of a White Christmas...

Goodness! Where has this time gone! It's been nearly a week since I last posted.

Well, life's been... busy. Since I last blogged....

It snowed! Yes, we got around 3 inches down on the ground, and sticking, last Saturday. I got up early on Saturday, just after six, and went outside to take a few photos. It was still dark, so most of them didn't turn up well. This one did. Before the snow, it didn't seem like December, like Christmas was only a few weeks away. Now, I'm listening to Christmas carols on the radio :)

Kusy had a lot (and I mean a lot) of fun in the snow.

That orange ball is the remains of a Good Cuz. It is missing its legs and no longer squeaks, so we bought him an early Christmas gift of a new, green one. He loves it already :)

I love how crisp and sharp this photo turned out.

Ah, going on a long, trans-Siberian trek with his faithful orange ball...

... and then running insanely throughout the snow-covered yard and the piles of poop that the flurries hide. Oh, joy.

Of course, what snowy day would be complete without hot chocolate and marshmallows?

SNOW!

This post can be considered a little late, as it snowed yesterday and the night before, but we have got AT LEAST 2-3 inches down on the ground. The night before, it was a little warm, so the snow turned into rain. If only snow had fallen, there would be 8-9 inches right now. Courtesy of Tom Skilling.

That rain also causes ice.... and a hurting tailbone. Ow.

This morning, I woke up to ZERO degree weather....that was at 6:50. My school is more toward the lakefront, so it was a lot warmer, but today when I got off my bus on the way home..... I nearly froze. It's less than ten degrees presently.

Also, two days ago, I made a mini snowman. I broke off little sticks from the stems of the hostas for arms, and made tiny balls of snow that I rubbed in mud for eyes, and then for a nose a blade of grass that was sticking out from beneath the snow.

The first snowfall of the season... it was snowing like crazy during lunch, but unfortunately it didn't stick. More snow will come, hopefully.

My best friend Mimi and I are planning a dog-themed Christmas/holiday play to perform for our families. We have found plenty of traditional carols with their words changed to be about dogs, including "Marking Up My Winter Wonderland," "Jingle Bells, The Yorkie Version," and "Skeeter the Long-Nosed Puppy."

We are thinking about changing Christmas stories, like "The Little Matchgirl," into stories about dogs, and performing them. Or thinking up something completely different.
